SOCCER - EUROPA LEAGUE
Manchester United missed out on a place in the final of the Europa League, losing 2-1 to Sevilla in Colgone.
Bruno Fernandes had put United ahead in the first half with a penalty but former Newcastle striker Luuk de Jong won it for the Spanish side with a goal 12 minutes from time.
Sevilla will take on either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk, who meet in the second semi final in Dusseldorf from 8.00 tonight.

LEAGUE OF IRELAND
Shamrock Rovers dropped their first points of the season in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
The league leaders were held to a scoreless draw away to St. Pats, who had Shane Griffin sent off early in the second half.
Rovers have a four point lead at the top.
Tonight in the First Division, the top two clash as leaders Cabinteely visit Longford Town.
Third placed Drogheda United host Galway United and UCD entertain Athlone Town.
All those matches kick-off at 7:45.

SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP
Rangers are top of the Scottish Premiership on goal difference this morning.
They moved above Hibs despite being held nil-nil at Livingston.
Steven Gerrard's men had won their opening three top flight matches.

Ronnie O'Sullivan won the World Championship for the sixth time with an 18-8 victory over Kyren Wilson in the final at the Crucible in Sheffield.
O’Sullivan's moved to within one of the all-time record of world titles, held by Stephen Hendry.

GOLF - WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Shane Lowry and Seamus Power both finished inside the top 30 at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina
American Jim Herman shot a final round 63 to finish up on 21 under par, one ahead of Billy Horschel.
Lowry ended up on 12 under while Power was 10 under.

EUROPEAN TOUR
England's Sam Horsfield has a second European Tour golf title in the space of three weeks.
He finished the Celtic Classic with a 2-shot victory on 18 under-par in a storm-affected final round in Newport.
Scotland's Connor Syme shared third place with Andrew Johnston and Thomas Pieters.
Horsfield clinched his first Tour title in the Hero Open earlier this month.

FORMULA ONE
Lewis Hamilton continues to break records in Formula One, extending his lead in the drivers' standings to 37 points.
The six-time world champion won the Spanish Grand Prix to achieve 156 podium finishes - the most in the history of the sport.
Hamilton crossed the line comfortably ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen, with his Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas third in Barcelona.

CRICKET
A draw is looking likely for England's cricketers going into the final day of the second Test against Pakistan.
Joe Root's men trail by 229 runs with rain meaning only an hour's play was possible on day four in Southampton.
England, who lead the series 1-nil, are due to resume on 7 for 1 after bowling their opponent out for 236 in their first innings.
