Leicester City increased their chances of a return to Champions League football with a 2-0 win away to Fulham.
Both of the goals came inside the first 45-minutes at Craven Cottage, with Kelechi Iheanacho and James Justin putting the finishing touches to some fine James Maddison play.
The win moved Leicester above Liverpool to third in the Premier League table, and five-points off the lead of Manchester City.
It was an important win for Rodgers' side, having taken just a point from their last two league outings.
"I thought it was an excellent win,” Rodgers said. “You only need to look at Fulham’s record, how hard they have been to beat, especially against big teams.
“We scored two goals of great quality. The first one we won the ball back and it’s a brilliant cross. We’re delighted for Kels [Iheanacho].
“The second was a different type, with good possession, played quickly, and then there’s the left-back getting up there to support with good energy.”
Leicester managed Wednesday night's win without their top scorer Jamie Vardy.
The striker has missed their last three games as he recovers from a hernia operation, but Rodgers hopes both he and Wilfred Ndidi will return for their weekend game with Wolves.
"I spoke to the medical team today," the Foxes boss said, "They’ve been out running and with another few days training, we’re confident they will be involved."
Rodgers singled Maddison out for praise after the win in West London.
The midfielder provided his fourth and fifth assists of the season, with the 24-year old continuing to impress his manager.
"He’s got immense quality, the cross that comes in, if it was Kevin De Bruyne everyone would be talking about it, an unbelievable cross,” said Rodgers.
“He’s created lots of moments for the team and we haven’t quite got the finish… his skill on the edge of the box for the second goal, he is an absolutely outstanding young player and I am so happy he plays in my team.”
