The German Football Association (DFB) and the German Football League (DFL) will formally present their plan for resuming the Bundesliga next Wednesday (May 6).
While other leagues around Europe have been forced to end their seasons, German football officials have been working in harmony with politicians towards restarting the game there.
The DFB and DFL will make their pitch to the Bundestag Sports Committee.
The German Olympic Sports Association will also be present.
Among the guidelines decided upon last week, players will be tested regularly for coronavirus, at least once a week.
The DFL estimates that around 20,000 tests will be required.
Kicker say that comprehensive testing of Bundesliga players will begin on Thursday.
They claim, "All laboratories have assured us in writing that the current capacities are sufficient and that COVID-19 will not limit the test capacities."
For games behind closed doors, stadiums will be separated into three zones with a maximum of 100 people designated for each zone.
A conference call between Chancellor Angela Merkel and the various state prime ministers on Thursday could also provide further clarity on a return to play.
On Monday, the various sports ministers spoke in favour of a resumption, while on Tuesday the federal Ministry of Labor gave the go-ahead on the subject of occupational health and safety.
Bavarian president Herbert Hainer says a return to play sooner rather than later is imperative, adding, "If we don't start soon, the league won't look like it does today."
