Dele Alli held at knifepoint and punched by burglars at his home

Dele Alli was the victim of a burglary where he was held at knifepoint and punched in the face in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Daily Mail say the 24-year old did not suffer any major injuries.

Two burglars reportedly broke into Alli's North London property just after midnight where he was isolating with his partner, brother and two other individuals.

A scuffle ensued, resulting in Alli's minor facial injury. A number of items were believed to be stolen including watches and jewellery.

The other occupants in the house were unharmed but shaken by the ordeal. The Spurs attacker's property is said to be covered by CCTV and footage has been passed onto police.

In light of the last night's events, Dele Alli shared an update with followers via his Twitter account.

Dele Alli is currently waiting to return to training with his Spurs teammates before a proposed Premier League return in late June.

The Mail quote local police as saying: "Police were called at approximately 00:35hrs on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address Barnet.

"Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

"One male occupant of the property, aged in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.

"No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue."
