David Moyes self-isolating following Arteta's coronavirus diagnosis

West Ham United manager David Moyes is believed to be self-isolating after Mikel Arteta was diagnosed with coronavirus.

Moyes would have come into contact with the Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta during last Saturday's 1-0 defeat for the Hammers at the Emirates Stadium.

It was confirmed late on Thursday night that Arteta had tested positive for COVID-19.

It's not believed Moyes is suffering from any coronavirus-related symptoms and has entered self-isolation merely as a precaution.

Moyes is the only member of the West Ham staff currently in isolation.

West Ham haven't confirmed the news themselves, but following the Premier League's decision to suspend all matches until April 4 at the earliest, they wrote:

"Due to members of West Ham personnel being in direct contact with the Arsenal manager at our game at Emirates Stadium at the weekend, the Club is taking a precautionary approach and those individuals are now self-isolating, in line with Government health guidelines.

"The Club will work with Public Health England regarding the welfare of our colleagues, their families and our supporters, which is of course our main priority at this time, and also in relation to our facilities, as well as continuing to work closely with the Premier League.

"West Ham has already taken a number of precautionary measures in regards to its facilities and its Rush Green training ground, where the management and squad have been based all week, will undergo a further deep clean and is closed until further notice. The Club's other training grounds at Chadwell Heath and Little Heath, as well as London Stadium, are also being deep cleaned."

As well as Premier League games with Wolves and Tottenham, West Ham have also suspended their Women's Premier League matches and academy team games.
