The Premier League appears to be edging closer to a return.
The Telegraph claim Chelsea have requested that all of their players currently overseas return to London by Sunday.
Willian is currently in Brazil, with Pedro, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcos Alonso all in their native Spain.
Chelsea will follow government protocols if players need to be quarantined upon their return to England.
It’s believed the Premier League have told clubs to expect to be back in full training by May 18 for a possible resumption on June 8th.
The clubs themselves are to hold the latest in their series of meetings regarding a potential return to play on Friday.
In that video conference, the Premier League's outline for a resumption of England's top flight will be discussed in depth.
Some clubs, like Arsenal, Tottenham, Brighton and West Ham have re-opened their training facilities to players in very limited circumstances.
The British government is due to review its own lockdown restrictions on Thursday next (May 7), which could herald a return to training in small groups like that which has been seen in Germany.
One club owner has told Sky Sports, that there is no chance of the 2019-20 season being cancelled as it would force clubs to the wall.
There have been differing approaches across Europe, with Germany and Spain also nearing returns to action.
While in the Netherlands, cancelling the remainder of their season has resulted in a slew of legal threats from clubs, particularly those involved in the now non-existent promotion and relegation battles.
In France, League officials have proposed ending the season now with Paris Saint Germain to be crowned champions, coupled with promotion and relegation.
"There is a great will to play the games," the owner told Sky Sports.
"We simply can't afford to not play but nothing will be done without government approval.
"If we wait for a vaccine or herd immunity it could be 18 months without football and 90 per cent of clubs would go bust. Even if we sacked 95 per cent of our employees, we'd still go bust because we would still have to pay the players."
