Bohs sign Horton from Cheltenham as Brighton ponder Mullins deal

Bohemians have completed the signing of defender Grant Horton from Cheltenham.

The 25-year old centre back joins on a season-long loan deal from the League One side.

He'll be seen a like-for-like replacement for Rob Cornwall, who left Bohs for USL League One expansion side Northern Colorado Hailstorm.

Horton can also operate at right-back, as he did in Cheltenham's FA Cup 2nd round defeat to Wimbledon in December.

It's mainly been a close season of outgoings from Dalymount Park, with Cornwall's exit added to those of captain Keith Buckley, the league's top scorer Georgie Kelly and Ross Tierney.

Meanwhile, MK Dons are in pole position to sign last year's PFAI Young Player of the Year, Dawson Devoy with the League One club having met Bohs' buyout clause.

And the exodus doesn't seem like stopping there. The Examiner report that Brighton are keen on landing teenage prodigy, Jamie Mullins.

He was The Gypsies' youngest ever scorer when he found the net against Longford at the age of just 16. As he's still eight months from turning 18, Mullins is unable to sign for an overseas team.

However, he's already visited Brighton three times and looks set to follow in the footsteps of other ex-Bohemians starlets Evan Ferguson and Warren O'Hora to the Sussex coast.

Ferguson particularly has shown what's possible at the Am-Ex. Having joined their Academy in 2021, he made his senior debut in their FA Cup 3rd round win over West Brom earlier this month.
