Off the Ball will have a horse running at Leopardstown this evening

For one night only, Off the Ball have entered the world of horse racing ownership.

The OTB - On The Bridle Syndicate will have a chance at glory with the Adrian McGuinness trained flat horse 'Aussie Valentine' in the 7.25 at Leopardstown.

The race is the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Nasrullah' Handicap over 1 mile and 2 furlongs.

The contest is the fourth on the card and there has been money for 'Aussie Valentine' this morning in the betting markets (it's not our money!).

In association with Horse Racing Ireland, Off the Ball have been given an insight into the world of horse racing ownership.

'Aussie Valentine' will run in grey silks, with a grey cap carrying white stars.

This will involve observing the horse being saddled, the preliminaries in the parade ring and discussing tactics with the trainer and jockey Gavin Ryan.

Then it's up the stairs to the Owners and Trainers vantage point in the stand to watch proceedings unfold.

Following the race, there will be discussion with the Off the Ball syndicate and connections in either the winner's or unsaddling enclosure.

'Aussie Valentine' in an 8 year old middle distance horse who was a 16/1 winner of a premier handicap at the Curragh on his penultimate run.

The horse is a course and distance winner at Leopardstown. That victory came in June of last year.

This opportunity will allow the Off the Ball team an insight into how syndicates can work. They are the lifeblood of racing and their presence will be heavily felt at the upcoming Galway Races.

Wish us luck!
