Republic of Ireland under-17 manager Colin O’Brien was left frustrated by the red card shown to Festy Ebosele during last night's 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic.
Ebosele was shown a second yellow card in injury time at the RSC in Waterford for an incident involving Czech defender Jan Hellebrand. A replay clearly showed that it was the wrong decision by Slovenian referee Rade Obrenovic but mistaken identity is usually the only chance of overturning a yellow-card call. However, O'Brien says an appeal will be lodged.

The Derby County winger threw his jersey to the ground as he made his towards the dressing room and Ebosele is now suspended for Thursday's final Group A game against Belgium at Tallaght Stadium. Andrew Omobamidele scored the goal for Ireland in the 88th minute after Vaclav Sejk had put the Czechs ahead 63 minutes in.
Belgium are top of Group A with four points following a 3-0 win over Greece. Ireland and the Czech Republic are on two points each while Greece sit at the foot of the table with a single point. Only the top two teams will qualify for the knockout stages so a win for Ireland would guarantee top spot in the group and a draw could be enough, depending on the result between Greece and the Czech Republic.
