“There is a chip on my shoulder" - Brian Moore set to start Bellator 135lbs title push

Bellator MMA's Brian Moore says 135lbs title charge will begin on Saturday night in Resorts World Arena.

Wexford’s Brian Moore (11-7 MMA) says he has a chip on his shoulder ahead of his return from injury on Saturday night.

The SBG fighter returns to bantamweight at ‘Bellator MMA Birmingham’ on Saturday evening against Sweden’s Ho Bi Linh (5-2 MMA).

He returns to the 135lbs ranks after going 2-2 in the featherweight division.

Moore’s last bout ended with a decision loss against UFC veteran Noad Lahat at ‘Bellator 210’ in Oklahoma last November. The Irishman broke both hands in the second round of the fight with a total of seven fractures between the two.

He dropped the Israeli three times before sustaining multiple breaks.

“That last situation hurt a lot. We all know what way that fight was going. He was fading fast as well as taking multiple shots. I dropped him three times," stated the 31-year-old Moore.

The former featherweight says there were frustrations in how he lost and he has not ruled out a future rematch with the Israeli. However, Moore is now focused on making a run for the 135lbs Bellator strap.

“It was extremely frustrating in which way it went but I’m set in my goal to be the champion at 135lbs but I definitely have it on my mind to go back and fight Noad," Said Moore.

The bantamweight fighter had double surgery days after the loss and says the fact he could not hold his young children was the most upsetting part of his time on the sidelines.

“There is a chip on my shoulder; this guy will pay for this – for all what we went through. Not being able to hold my kids was the roughest. I don’t give a f*** about anything else, genuinely," Moore told Off The Ball.

Moore spent the last five months on the sidelines but says he is ready for the title push to begin, starting Saturday.

“It’s been a long process but here we are, three days out from the fight. I cannot wait.”
