Manchester United legend Gary Neville has criticised Manchester United's poor decision-making following the sacking of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer was shown the door on Saturday night after his team suffered a 4-1 humiliation away to struggling Watford.
The Norwegian had taken charge at Old Trafford in December 2018 following Jose Mourinho's dismissal. He is the fourth manager to lose his job at the club since Alex Ferguson left the role in 2013.
Neville bemoaned the United board's failure to find a suitable replacement during the international window.
Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday, Neville believes the board's inaction has left the club in a difficult situation.
"You saw what the clubs who sacked managers a couple of weeks ago did; they used the international break to reset and get themselves right," Neville said.
"I think Manchester United have obviously tried to crawl to the end of the season."
🗣 "They're scrambling, they're reacting. It's three times they've given a manager a long contract or extension and sacked them within a few months. The planning is poor."@GNev2 worries about the way Manchester United have been with their planning pic.twitter.com/LGD3V7kTG0

"They haven't got any options available. There's no one there who's waiting to take over from Solskjaer. I think if it had been a couple of years ago and a Pochettino or a Tuchel had been available, maybe they would've done it a couple of weeks ago."
"They were never going to appoint Conte, whatever anyone might say about that," Neville added. "Right or wrong, Manchester United were never going to appoint Antonio Conte."
"They're scrambling, they're reacting. It's three times now that they've given a manager a long contract or extension and then sacked them in a few months. The planning at the football club has been poor."
"The decisions over the last eight years since Sir Alex Ferguson have left a lot to be desired."
Neville: "I do worry about how that dressing room has disintegrated"
Neville also noted the speed at which things seemed to fall apart for Solskjaer at the club.
"I said the worst that it could be for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he's been a bridge from what were the dark and moody days from when Jose [Mourinho] was sacked."
"I just hope they can get the new manager in quite quickly and keep the momentum going."
"But I do worry about the last few weeks and how that dressing room has disintegrated," Neville continued. "I actually think that dressing room like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likes those players."
"I'm a little bit worried at how it's gotten so bad so quickly. Eight weeks ago, it was euphoria in Manchester, and literally eight weeks later, a manager has lost his job."
