Ally McCoist criticises Neil Lennon pub argument video | 'It's a scandal'

Former Rangers manager has rallied to the side of former Celtic boss Neil Lennon after he was filmed in a pub altercation.

Video emerged on social media on Tuesday of Lennon apparently exchanging words with another patron.

McCoist used his TalkSport platform to criticise the individual responsible for the video, who can be heard to say “See you Neil, you ginger c***”.

"It shouldn’t be allowed. In my opinion, it is a complete and utter invasion of his privacy," McCoist said.

“And, by the way, I have been that way when you’re worse for wear with beer and alcohol.

“I am not going to preach to anybody about it but I think the invasion of privacy is a complete disgrace.

“That is one of the worst inventions in the world; the camera phone. It gives people the license to take absolute liberties and it is a scandal.”

With Lennon gone, Celtic are still to replace him with a permament first-team coach.

Off The Ball spoke to Celtic podcaster Paul John Dykes about who might fit the bill.

With John Kennedy due to take temporary charge at Parkhead, will he be up to the job?

"We're in a similar situation to 2010 [when Lennon was first appointed], John has got eight games, he is a highly-rated coach.

"But Celtic fans want a wholesale change. So when Neil Lennon stood down, Celtic fans want the entire coaching staff to follow him. John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan are working with those players every day on the training ground [...] John Kennedy is also culpable.

"I hope it is only a temporary appointment for John."

So who would be first choice?

"Celtic fans are looking at managers like Eddie Howe, Rafa Benitez has been mentioned. As have Roberto Martinez and Shaun Moloney.

"These are top-end managers who I am sure will also be chase by clubs down south, so whatever the appointment is, it will indicate the level of ambition of the new board and the CEO coming in in the summer."
