Dawson Devoy has confirmed he is staying with Bohemians for the 2022 campaign.
The Republic of Ireland U21 international had been the subject of significant interest from English League One side MK Dons, following a sparkling 2021 with Bohs.
The 20-year old helped Keith Long's side reach the 3rd qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League, a run which included a superb personal showing against Stjarnan at the Aviva Stadium.
Devoy was back at the Lansdowne Road venue in November, with the Gypsies losing the FAI Cup final on penalties to St. Pat's.
It had appeared that the attacking midfielder would be just the latest member of that Cup final team to leave Bohs in the close season.
Georgie Kelly (Rotherham United), Ross Tierney (Motherwell), Rob Cornwall (Colorado Hailstorm), Keith Buckley (Australia) and Andy Lyons (Shamrock Rovers) all decided to seek their fortune elsewhere.
Last month, MK Dons reportedly met Bohemians' release clause for Devoy and a move across the Irish Sea appeared imminent.
But speaking on Bohs' Instagram page, the Dubliner gave his reasons for staying.
"Last season I had a good season, and at this time I just thought it was best to stay at Bohs because I've developed so much," he said.
"I think there's no better coaches in the country. To stay at Bohs was probably the right decision for me, and I'm looking forward to this season and kicking-on again."
While many have departed, Bohs have been busy in drafting in replacements.
Junior and the returning Kris Twardek have added some potential potency to their attack, Jordan Flores and Grant Horton have also given Long options further back the pitch.
And the boss has given special instructions to Devoy, ahead of their season-opener away to Sligo on Friday-week.
"Keith's been onto me about getting in the box more, and scoring more," he revealed, "and hitting the target more.
"I want to add goals and assists, and get forward a lot more."
