"They've an abundance of riches" | Donegal possess more than Michael Murphy

Amid claims that Donegal are overly reliant on Michael Murphy, former Tyrone footballer Ronan O'Neill refuted the notion that they are a one-man team.

Exacting an enormous influence on Donegal's success this year, O'Neill conceded that Michael Murphy is perhaps his county's most persistent threat.

"I'd say a lot of teams believe that if they take Murphy out, they'll go a long way," stated O'Neill on Friday's OTB AM.

"I know in the Tyrone game he was fantastic ... and he had a massive bearing [on the game]."

Responding to claims made by Meath's Colm Nally on the We Are Meath podcast regarding Donegal's potential over-reliance on Murphy, however, O'Neill believes such a description does Declan Bonner's side a disservice

"I wouldn't really say they are a one-man team," clarified O'Neill.

"Paddy McBrearty has come back in this year and he has added more scores. Jamie Brennan has been playing the football of his life this year.

"Some of the young lads then have been playing very well, and it is very unfortunate that Eoghan Bán Gallagher has broken his ankle now.

"To say they are a one-man team, I wouldn't really agree with that. They have an abundance of riches about the pitch."

After successfully seeing off Meath in the opening round of the Super 8s, Donegal will face Kerry in Croke Park this weekend.
