Manchester City have missed out on a chance to move into second place in the Premier League after Stoke City held them to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad.
City had a game in hand on all their Top Four rivals with the exception of Arsenal and Manchester United and could have gone two points above Tottenham Hotspur with a win.
Pep Guardiola's side have regained good form of late with four league wins in a row which made them favourites to see off an inconsistent Stoke side.
City had also lost just once at home this season when they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Chelsea.

But in a tight game, City and Stoke struggled to carve out chances.
While there were 17 attempts at goal overall, there were only three shots on target during the dour 90 minutes of action, with City only getting one of those on a night when Sergio Aguero captained the side.
The result means City are now level on points with Tottenham but remain third on goal difference.
They are 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
