Riyad Mahrez is the latest Premier League footballer to be targeted by criminals who took luxury watches, rare jerseys and cash worth half-a-million pounds.
The Manchester City winger had three luxury watches worth more than £300,000 stolen when thieves raided his penthouse apartment, according to a report in The Sun.
The raiders are also said to have taken more than £50,000 in cash as well as rare football shirts worth up to £150,000 while Mahrez was out of the apartment.
It is reported that the watches were a Richard Mille timepiece worth £230,000, a £40,000 Rolex Daytona and a Rolex Day Date worth £35,000.
Mahrez was out when the thieves broke in to the Manchester city centre apartment and the residents there all received a letter which read: "Four apartments were accessed without authority using a fob which had general access throughout the building.
"The fob in question is now in our possession, has been fully deactivated and cannot be used again."
Two Tottenham Hotspur players were the victims of thieves this year and were unfortunate to be at their residence when the perpetrators broke in.
England international Dele Alli was held at knifepoint and punched in the face earlier this month.
Two burglars reportedly broke into Alli's North London property just after midnight where he was isolating with his partner, brother and two other individuals.
A scuffle ensued, resulting in Alli's minor facial injury. A number of items were believed to be stolen including watches and jewellery.
His Spurs team-mate Jan Vertonghen's home was robbed by four men armed with knives while he was away on Champions League duty in March.
The Belgium international's family were unharmed in the incident as men in balaclavas stole a number of items from the north London property while he was away in Germany for Spurs' defeat to RB Leipzig.
