Maguire and Horgan called up to Republic of Ireland squad

Preston striker Sean Maguire and Wycombe Wanderers winger Daryl Horgan have been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad.

Both players will link up with Stephen Kenny's squad later today, replacing Aaron Connolly and Adam Idah.

Connolly and Idah will both return to their clubs after missing the Euro 2020 playoff semi-final defeat to Slovakia.

Both were ruled out of the game in Bratislava as a result of being a close contact to a member of the travelling party who tested positive for coronavirus.

The Republic of Ireland will be back on action on Sunday when they face Wales at the Aviva Stadium in the Nations League and the Boys in Green will then travel to Finland next week.

The squad will train at the FAI National Training Centre on Saturday ahead of the Wales game, which kicks off at 2pm.
