'We are the hunters now' | Romelu Lukaku after Chelsea cracks top three

Chelsea finished the festive weekend in third place after a superb Romelu Lukaku second half saw Thomas Tuchel's side see off Aston Villa 3-1 on St Stephen's Day.

A Reece James own goal put the hosts in front in the first half,Β  before Jorginho levelled scores with a penalty just before half time.

Lukaku was brought on at half time and was the difference-maker for the visitors, as he not only scored the goal that put Chelsea in front, but earned the final penalty in the final minute of the match to secure the victory.

Speaking toΒ Sky Sports after the match, player of the game Lukaku aimed some slightly pointed comments towards his manager about where and how he likes to play.

"Throughout the the years my movement in the box has been better," Lukaku said. "I try to be less static and try to be on the move all the time.

"The cross was a brilliant cross and I just came across the man and flicked it in. That is my preferred actions; running into space and using my speed and my power."

Chelsea are now level with Liverpool on the Premier League points table. Lukaku believes that this result helps their title hopes, but knows that every match until the end of the season will be vital.

"We are the hunters now," Lukaku said. "It is clear that the last few results for us were not the best. Now we have to chase.

"Every game from now until the end of the season is a final. You have to treat them like finals because every game in the Premier League is very difficult. Today we won, so now we have to push on and keep chasing.

"Today we had to do our job; we had to win the game. Aston Villa was doing very well in their last couple of games, credit to Steven Gerrard and his staff and their players.

"They have a really good team and it was not easy for us," Lukaku added. "In the end, our quality came through, and now we have to push on."
