"You can't have conversations with everybody about everything"- Limerick boss John Kiely

Limerick manager John Kiely says there are no conversations with players before he picks his teams.

The All-Ireland hurling champions will assure themselves a place in the Munster final with victory against Tipperary.

With strong competition for places in the panel, Kiely says there are no prior conversations with players left out of the starting teams.

"There haven't been conversations. We name the team, that's it and we go with that," he said.

"You can't have conversations with everybody about everything. That's not possible, so sometimes you're as well off to make it the same for everybody and just not have those conversations.

"They have to accept the decisions and we move on. And they know the story themselves. They know they can't play any game and they know when they're maybe not in the best of form.

"And they know there are other players who are pushing really, really hard for places and they have to be rewarded for their efforts as well."

Tipperary

Tipperary are top of the pile in the Munster round-robin, posing a tough challenge for Limerick away in Thurles. But they've also had more time to prepare, having had a bye week as Kiely pointed out.

"They've had two weeks to prepare for the game. That's just the way it is. We knew that from the very outset when the draw was made and the dates came out," he said.

"So we can focus in on that or we can focus in on our performance. I choose to focus in on our performance."

This weekend will also mark a third week of action in a row for his team and he has given the players an extra day off.

He also admitted they were "caught cold" by Cork in the opening round and "weren't ready" that day.
