Liverpool and Ireland legend Mark Lawrenson believes poor performances from players are a major reason for Spurs' dismal form in the Premier League this season.
The club sacked manager Nuno Espírito Santo following their 3-0 drubbing at home to Manchester United. The Portuguese manager had been at Tottenham for little over four months.
However, Lawrenson contends that the problems at the club are not solely down to an unsuitable manager.
Speaking on Monday's OTB AM, Lawrenson told Eoin Sheahan and Johnny Ward that Spurs' rotten start to the season can also be attributed to lacklustre showings from key players, such as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
"Kane doesn't look like he's enjoying himself," Lawrenson said. "He works hard enough, but you can almost see it in his body language at times - 'I should've gone to Manchester City', which will probably happen in January."
"It's affected Son as well, because Son is a real top player, but he doesn't quite look the same."
"I thought Lucas Moura was the only one who looked capable of doing anything at the weekend, and they took him off. A lot of the other players looked like 9-to-5-ers, just very ordinary players."
"The goalkeeper hasn't been good for him for 18 months to two years", Lawrenson added. "I can't remember the amount of times they changed the players at the back."
"They look like they've got just an ordinary team. It's not an ordinary team if Son and Kane are firing - it then becomes a good team - but they're not."

Lawrenson further noted that he doesn't believe Kane has simply downed tools for the club.
"I think he's a top, top player who's just got the monk on with the club at the moment because they wouldn't let him go," Lawrenson suggested.
"For all we know, he might be thinking: 'don't get injured until January 1st and then I can go!'"
"He seems to be a really honest guy; there's nothing wrong with his work ethic."
"He's not had very many chances - the service has been really, really poor - but you can just see it in his body language, he's thinking: 'hmmm, nice stadium, but what am I doing here?'"
