Klopp on Alisson injury - 'It doesn't look good'

After having incredible luck with injuries last season it took less than 45 minutes on Friday night for one of Liverpool's most important players to pick up an injury.

The Red's goalkeeper; Alisson, who kept a phenomenal 21 clean-sheets last season, was substituted with a calf injury just before half-time in their 4-1 win over Norwich.

The Brazilian suffered the problem as he took a goal-kick, and will now miss their upcoming Super Cup match against Chelsea in Istanbul.

The former Roma player was a key figure for Liverpool in his debut season, helping them win the Champions League and come within a point of winning the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp wasn't overly optimistic speaking to Sky Sports News after the game.

"It's probably a bit more than a strain, we have to see, we have to make the diagnosis.

"We don't know exactly but it doesn't look too good."

The 26-year-old was replaced by new signing Adrian, who was a free agent in the summer after being released by West Ham.

Klopp was impressed with the Spaniard on his debut, less than a week after arriving at Anfield.

"He's a very confident guy. I don't think he wanted to sit only on the bench for the next couple of years.

"He made himself ready but we still don't want to have a situation where just one goalie is fit."

In general, Klopp seemed happy with his side's performance, after a summer with no signings and a turbulent pre-season.

"For 60 minutes we were completely spot on. Imagine for a first game against a freshly promoted team, showing that work rate, that's just brilliant and that's what we showed.

"The atmosphere was brilliant, everything was fine, we won the first game 4-1 and we know we have 37 to go."
