Kerry cruise past Clare as Dublin ladies win NFL | GAA round up

The start of the GAA Championship didn't yield any shocks, as the Kerry and Mayo footballers and the Wexford and Dublin hurlers all won.

The All-Ireland football championship is once again a knockout format, and Clare's summer is over after Kerry beat them by 3-22 to 1-11 in a Munster senior quarter final in Killarney.

Sean O'Shea scored the opening Kerry goal before David Clifford added a second major late in the game.

And Michéal Burns scored a third goal in injury time to get the Kingdom off to a decent start as they chase a first All-Ireland in seven years.

Kerry will now face defending champions Tipperary in the semi-finals.

Limerick are to play Cork following a 4-18 to 12 points victory over Waterford at the Gaelic Grounds.

Sligo's GAA Championship is over following Mayo's 3-23 to 12 points win over the Yeats County at Markievicz Park.

Aidan O'Shea scored two goals for Mayo.

Conor McDonald found the net twice for Wexford in the Leinster senior hurling championship.

Davy Fitzgerald's side were comfortable 5-31 to 1-12 winners over Laois at Nowlan Park and the Model County will now face Kilkenny in the semi-finals.

Dublin accounted for Antrim in Navan on a scoreline of 3-31 to 22 points, with Donal Burke grabbing 0-11 for the Dubs.

Cian O'Sullivan, Ronan Hayes and Cian Boland got the goals to set up a last four encounter with Galway.

In the Joe McDonagh Cup, Kerry beat Down by 2-24 to 1-21, while Carlow defeated Kildare by 2-22 to 3-16.

Dublin's ladies saw off Cork to win the Lidl National Football League Division 1 crown.

The All-Ireland champions came out on top by 2-15 to 1-13.

Meath won the Division 2 final after a 2-16 to 1-9 win over Kerry.
