Keith Wood shares his expectations of Ireland vs England

Keith Wood feels everything would need to go Ireland's way to earn a victory against England in the final Six Nations match of 2017.

England are going for 19 wins a row while the Irish side are looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Wales in Cardiff last Friday.

Regardless of the result, England have won the Six Nations title. But Ireland can deny them a Grand Slam.

Speaking to Off The Ball, Wood does not think England will dominate Ireland in the way they did to Scotland last weekend but he does feel much would need to go right from an Irish perspective.

"I think a lot of things would have to go our way but I do think we'll get a reaction," he said.

"I do think we'll be focused and I also think when you're away from home, you definitely kick your points because points are very hard to come by and slightly different at home. I'd like to see that mixed up a little.

"I think an awful lot would have to go right for us and look, there's no way England are going to be given the freedom that they got against Scotland. It was like a training session for the first half, it really, really was.

"It was poor international fare from Scotland. We're not going to give them that space over the weekend.

"I think it will be tight. Everything would need to go our way for us to win."

While England have been following up win after win, the former Ireland captain does not think the record is always reflective of every single performance.

"England have set a world record for their wins so they aren't mugs in any way shape or form. Yet they've been under-performing heavily in this Six Nations but are still winning," he said.
