Bohemians have added midfielder Jordan Doherty to their squad ahead of the 2022 season.

The 21-year old returns to Ireland, having spent the past two years with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the US second tier.

Doherty is Bohs' fourth acquisition of the week. Following a number of high-profile departures, they've added Junior, left-back Max Murphy, and ex-Treaty United goalkeeper Tadhg Ryan to their ranks.

Manager Keith Long has seen the likes of Rob Cornwall, Keith Buckley and Keith Ward leave the club after their FAI Cup final defeat. Last season's top scorer Georgie Kelly has also informed Long that he won't be back in 2022, with offers from abroad proving too tempting.

Doherty was deployed as a defensive midfielder at the Rowdies in 2021, helping them reach the USLC Playoff final.

The Balbriggan native started his career at Sheffield United, before his move to Florida.
