'Monaghan have the ability to cause us all sorts of bother' - Jason Ryan

Kildare have already put two qualifier rounds behind them, but the Lilywhites have one more hurdle before they can take up a place in the All Ireland Football quarter-finals.

However, that Round 4 qualifier will be tough as they face Ulster finalists Monaghan and ahead of that match, Kildare manager Jason Ryan joined us on the show.

"We've finished games generally well. During the course of games, maybe maintaining or trying to replicate our concentration in the final 15 minutes of games, is something [we'd like to have] all the way through," said Ryan of the issues that the team would like to iron out in what has been a transitional season.

Ryan also admitted that expectations in Kildare are "huge" but sees that as a benefit.

"It's terrific that in the county, there is that ambition and the ambition is shared by the people that are working with the teams," said Ryan, who added that it will take time for Kildare to develop consistency at the highest level and views this year as a good year to build confidence for 2015.

"We're clear about what we need to do to make it competitive consistently against the top teams. We've a lot of players who just haven't played at that level for long enough and it'll take a bit of time.

"Kildare don't have any player in the squad anymore who has a Leinster Senior medal."

Ryan also assessed the threat that Monaghan will pose to his team and admitted that "they're that bit ahead" of Kildare in terms of recent experience and "have the ability to cause us all sorts of bother".
