Munster and Ireland lock Jean Kleyn will have a scan on his injured neck later today and he's a doubt for Sunday's game against the Ospreys.

The South African native picked up the issue, which head-coach Johann van Graan as described as "a bang" in the Reds' loss to Racing in Paris last weekend.

"We’re going to send for a scan on his neck. He took a bang there. He makes a lot of contact and we’ll know more later in the week on him," van Graan told The Limerick Leader this afternoon.

The head-coach has also confirmed that out-half JJ Hanrahan will be fit for the visit of the Ospreys to Thomond Park:

“JJ’s hamstring is fine, he was pretty banged up after Sunday’s game, as they ran quite hard in his channel and he took a bit of contact, so we’ll look after him during the week".

Hooker Rhys Marshall and prop James Cronin could also return on Sunday while Fineen Wycherley is going through the return to play protocols.

Munster face an uphill task to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Heineken Champions Cup, and would need three results to go their way, but van Graan says they've not give up hope:

“We are still alive in this competition, so yes, it is out of our hands but we have incredible support, especially when you think of the amount of Munster people who went to the Racing game; when you think of all the people we saw at the airport, they were all brilliant to us.

“Any time we play at home, it’s a special thing. Prior to the Leinster game on December 28, we were unbeaten here for two years; so we are really looking forward to playing our last European game of the season.
