Greg Feek gives Ireland rugby injuries update

Ireland scrum coach has given an update on the injury status of several players, following the loss to England in the first round of the Six Nations.

The Kiwi coach focused mainly on Devin Toner, Keith Earls, Rob Kearney and Garry Ringrose, all of whom were some form of doubt for the upcoming match against Scotland.

CJ Stander has already been ruled out with suspected facial fractures - yet to have been confirmed by the IRFU.

On Earls, Feek said:

"He's looking good so far. Tuesday is usually a good sign. At this stage, and being Earlsy, he's a tough character who marches on. Our medical staff have done a great job with him as well."

On Rob Kearney's long-standing quad injury:

"Rob's good - he got through yesterday and today as well. Our squad depth has always been good in terms of experience and who can come in. He trained alright."

But it was Devin Toner and Garry Ringrose who are confirmed absences from the match at Murrayfield this weekend.

"Devin has been ruled out for this week, with his ankle. Garry Ringrose's hamstring also isn't quite right, so he won't be available this week either," said Feek.
