Sligo Rovers' Liam Buckley has spoken to Off The Ball about the disappointment he felt with the departures of Mikey Drennan and Rhys McCabe.
The pair joined St Patrick's Athletic prior to this season, with the two sides due to play each other in league action tomorrow evening.
"I'd be disappointed with both of them having left - they got out on a technicality," said Buckley.
"That's the bottom line. From our end of it, we thought that we were going to keep them. I was delighted to keep them.
"Unfortunately, they have moved - it was their call, but they got out on a technicality which does disappoint me bearing in mind the whole scenario.
"But we have moved on, and they have moved on."
Buckley also spoke about how the transfers affected the pre-season preparations for the Bit O' Red.
"It just made life a little more difficult for myself in that I had pencilled the two of them in because one is a good forward and one is a really good midfielder - they can pass the ball well and Drennan is a good finisher.
"We have to be on our toes bearing in mind that they are arriving up here tomorrow but we have moved on.
"We have replaced them, and I am delighted with the group because all of the players we have want to be here."
