Wexford's Aidan Nolan banned for Leinster Hurling Final

Wexford will be without Aidan Nolan for Sunday's Leinster Hurling Championship final against Kilkenny at Croke Park.

He's been handed a two-match ban for “abusive language" towards Tipperary referee Fergal Horgan after the final whistle of their round robin clash with Brian Cody's side at Wexford Park.

The Half Way House-Bunclody clubman was before the Central Hearings Committee last evening and they've ruled that the alleged infraction was proven.

"An Lár Choiste Cheannais na gComortaisí (Central Competitions Control Committee) took Disciplinary Action against Aidan Nolan, alleging a breach of Riail 7.2 (b) Category III T.O. 2019, that is to say “Abusive language towards a Referee”.

Aidan Nolan requested a Hearing which took place on the 24th June 2019. An Lár Choiste Éisteachta Éisteachta (Central Hearings Committee) found the alleged infraction proven.

Minimum Penalty on Repeat Infraction Imposed: A Two Match Suspension in the same Code and at the same Level, applicable to the next game in the same Competition, even if that game occurs in the following year’s competition.

Aidan Nolan has the option of appealing against the decision of An Lár Choiste Éisteachta to An Lár Choiste Achomhairc."

Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald will also be without Nolan for their All-Ireland quarter or semi-final though he has the option to appeal to the ban.
