It has been a manic day in both the hurling and football codes, with one of the games of the year played out between Galway and Kilkenny at Nowlan Park - below are the GAA results.
Galway finished a point ahead of the Kilkenny men, with three sendings off, during an enthralling encounter that did no good fans' blood pressure either side.
Limerick and Clare played out a full-blooded affair, as the All-Ireland winners looked to turn over Donal Moloney and Gerry O'Connor's men.
Meath and Laois were in action at Croke Park in the Leinster Senior Football Championship semis, with Dublin and Kildare making up the numbers in name only.
There were four matches in the Senior Football Championships in the first round of the qualifiers, too.
Cavan took on Armagh in the Ulster football championship semi-final replay, and Sligo had an important match against Warwickshire in Derry.
