Cork didn't seem to have a plan when it wasn't going to plan – GAA Late Night.

Sarah O'Donovan joined GAA Late Night to look back on the Cork vs Galway fixture.

Cork suffered a 2-19 to 1-21 defeat to Galway at Semple Stadium last weekend, which resulted in them being knocked out of the Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals. Meanwhile, Galway will go on to face Limerick in the Semi-Finals of the competition.

Multiple journalists have suggested that Cork's downfall can be attributed to how wasteful they were of the opportunities that came their way. The Rebel County hit sixteen wides in total on an afternoon to forget for the Munster side.

All Ireland winner Sarah O'Donovan spoke on Late Night GAA to give her thoughts on her home county being dumped out of the Championship.

"They gave 3-11 away in the first half they just weren't executing when the chances were opening up in front of them," said O'Donovan.

"They allowed Galway to stay in the game; to my mind, Galway are threadbare. They have sixteen or seventeen players. Whereas Cork have a panel of twenty-two or twenty-three players. They took off Lehane, O'Mahony and Conolly, who were essentially their best players in the previous two games.

"They didn't seem to have a plan when it wasn't going to plan, and that was my worry with Cork all year. Just really frustrating to watch."

"It is so frustrating for very Cork fan in the ground leaving the stadium yesterday because Cork were the better team. They have the better panel, and they didn't deliver again."

It has been seventeen years since Cork won the Liam McCarthy Cup, and after Saturday, that wait will go on for another year.
