Whatever satisfaction John Kiely might take from Limerick's defeat of Waterford this afternoon, he isn't intent on letting it show.
"I don't know about that to be honest with you," stated Kiely when it was put to him by Off the Ball's Oisin Langan that he must surely be pleased with the manner of Limerick's 1-24 to 0-19 defeat of Waterford.
"There were a few chances we should have taken throughout the course of the game, [and] we made life a little bit difficult for ourselves at times."
Content to admit that it was a "good performance overall" by his Limerick side, Kiely identified the specific areas that he would be looking for the reigning All-Ireland champions to address when they meet again ahead of the Munster championship.
"We've an awful lot of work to do," explained Kiely, "we've a huge amount of work to do."
"We've hit too many wides all through the League, and we had a lot of them again today. That's an area we need to work on.
"We're giving away too many frees on occasion as well, and I think we need to scale that back.
"We still need to get a little more fluency in our play and move the ball faster, so there are aspects of our game that need significant work.
"We'll leave the lads back to their clubs [now], and when they come back we'll get down to work."
