As the championship season truly got underway this weekend, here is a comprehensive roundup of the GAA results from across the country.
Hosting their first Munster Championship game since the restructuring of the provincial format, Waterford shipped a disappointing defeat to visitors Clare. Trailing for most of the afternoon, Paraic Fanning's side nevertheless finished within one-point of the victors.
In Leinster, a slow start didn't halt Galway from getting over the line against an impressive Carlow. Meanwhile, there were wins for Meath and Louth in the football.
On Saturday evening, Kilkenny proved too much for Mattie Kenny's Dublin in Nowlan Park. Trailing for much of the game, the talismanic TJ Reid scored a goal that set Brian Cody's men on their way to a welcome first-win in the Leinster Championship.
A little further down the line, Offaly's poor form continued along the same trajectory as they lost out to Laois in the Joe McDonagh Cup, while wins for Derry, Armagh and Sligo saw them enjoy a productive weekend's worth in the Christy Ring and Nicky Rackard Cups.
There was a major shock in the Munster SFC as Limerick overcame Tipperary in Thurles. While Wicklow may consider themselves unlucky not to have upset Kildare in Netwatch Cullen Park.
