Anthony Nash announces retirement from inter-county hurling

Cork goalkeeper Anthony Nash has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling.

The 36-year-old Kanturk clubman announced his decision on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.

The two-time All Star, who also has four Munster titles to his name said it was a 'dream' to represent Cork.

In his 13 years with the senior squad, since making his debut in 2007, he made 43 appearances for the Rebels.

Cork bowed out of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship in round two of the qualifiers after a four-point loss to Tipperary.

Earlier on in the year, Waterford beat them, also by four points in the Munster semi-final.
