One of Clare's heroes from the 2013 All-Ireland win has retired from inter-county hurling.
Domhnall O'Donovan scored an injury-time point against Cork in the All-Ireland Final that sent the game to a replay which Clare eventually won by six points.
O'Donovan's point has been one of the most iconic points scored in recent memory, which was immortalised by the commentary of Clare FM's Syl O'Connor.
The news was broken last night by the Irish Independent and was confirmed this morning to Newstalk Sport. O'Donovan has stepped down from the squad due to work commitments, although the door remains open should he wish to return
The 27-year-old Clonlara star was also part of the Clare Under-21 side that won the All-Ireland Championship in 2009. He featured in the Clonlara side that won the Clare Championship for only the second time in their history in 2008.
