The Gaelic Players Association have exclusively revealed to Newstalk that they will not back the motion to introduce the GAA Super 8 structure to the All Ireland Football championships.
The Super 8 proposal would see the All Ireland quarter final stage replaced by a round robin format.
The proposal will go before GAA's annual Congress this weekend with delegates to vote on the motion.
The Club Players Association is not favour of its introduction and CPA executive member Shane Curran says those backing the proposal would be "very wrong" if they believe that "Super 8s is the answer to addressing significant competition and complex fixture issues".
On the GPA's stance, the former Roscommon goalkeeper had added that he would be "extremely surprised if they rolled in behind any Super 8 structure".
The GPA have now revealed their stance with Newstalk's Ger Gilroy outlining their points on tonight's Off The Ball:
"Tonight we can also reveal that the GPA, who represent inter-county players, have also voted to reject the Duffy proposals by a margin of 70% to 30%.

"The GPA are in favour, I should stress, of an end to replays and the shortening of the season. But tonight Seamus Hickey, the GPA President, has confirmed to Off The Ball that inter-county plays have voted against Paraic Duffy's proposals for the quarter finals Super 8s and will publish the full breakdown of those figures.
"So just for clarity's sake, all of the players' representative bodies in the GAA have now been surveyed and the inter-county player and the club player have called for the Duffy proposals to be shelved."
