A new format for golf tournaments is being trialled in Perth tomorrow when the IPS HANDA World Super 6 gets under way.
The unique format will see three rounds of the standard 18 hole format being played with a cut after 36 holes.
The remaining players will be cut down to 24 competitors after 54 holes. Any players tied in 24th will advance to a sudden death play-off.

The final 24 players will battle it out in six-hole knock-out matches until one player wins.
The new format also sees a purpose built 90-metre hole will be constructed at Lake Karrinyup with a new tee placed adjacent to the 18th fairway and will utilise the 18th green.
The Shootout hole will be played out once and if players remain tied, they will return to the new tee and continue to play from this tee until a winner is determined by stroke play. This winner will then progress to the next round or, in the case of the final match, win the tournament.
