Stipe Miocic is the new UFC heavyweight champion after he stopped Fabrício Werdum in the first round at UFC 198 in Brazil last night.
The bout was part of the co-main event alongside Ronaldo Souza, who also picked up a first round victory as he beat Vitor Belfort at the Arena da Baixada football stadium.

Miocic absorbed early punches and timed his shot to perfection to stop Werdum and end his reign as champion. It was Werdum's second title defence since beating Mark Hunt in November 2014.
Elsewhere, Cris 'Cyborg' Justino also enjoyed an ultra impressive UFC debut with victory over Leslie Smith.
Cyborg lived up to the hype and landed a litany of shots to put Smith away in the first round.
