WATCH: Shaun Murphy pulls off incredible trick shot at The Crucible

He is best known as 'The Magician', and Shaun Murphy lived up to his billing on Thursday night at the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield.

The 2005 World Champion is facing Ronnie O'Sullivan in the Second Round, and despite trailing 6-2 at the end of the first session, the 34-year-old had undoubtedly the best moment of the match.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth frame, Murphy was behind the yellow ball with very little options on the table. With the exception of a red ball lurking over the middle right pocket, there was no other shots available to the 34-year-old.

With the red ball, just the far side of the pocket, and a pot looking very unlikely, Murphy decided to try and pot the ball, by hitting the cue ball of three cushions with a heavy amount of right-hand side.

The shot drew gasps from John Virgo and Steve Davis in the commentary box, and also from those in attendance in The Crucible. "What a time to play an exhibition come trick shot!", Virgo proclaimed.

Despite the incredible shot, Murphy would lose the frame. He trails 6-2 at the end of the opening session. The first to 13 books their place in the quarter-finals.
