WATCH: Rob Gronkowski invades the ring at WrestleMania

WrestleMania 33 took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, with over 70,000 fans in attendance in Orlando.

As happens with every WrestleMania, WWE tried to entice many famous faces to the event and struck gold with NFL star Rob Gronkowski.

The New England Patriots star is a good friend of WWE superstar Mojo Rawley. The two men became friends with Rawley (Dean Muhtadi) played college football with Gronkowski's two brothers.

A star of the NFL, Gronkowski is a Super Bowl winner with the Patriots, and is one of the best tight-ends in American Football.

Rawley was competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale, when Gronkowski "inadvertantly" got involved ringside. The 27-year-old, with plenty of encouragement from the crowd entered the ring and shoulder-charged Jinder Mahal, one of Rawley's opponents.

Gronkowski's contribution was short but sweet, yet gave the WWE a "WrestleMania moment" that can be used in highlights for years to come.

The Patriots star took to social media after the event to congratulate his friend. He also called the experience "unbelievable".

What's the bigger event though? A Super Bowl or WrestleMania?
