Floyd Mayweather has hinted that a super fight with an MMA fighter is "possible".
Reports emerged on Friday suggesting that the worlds of pro boxing and mixed-martial arts could collide, with claims that the unbeaten Mayweather could come out of retirement to take on UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
Mayweather's father also claimed that his son had told him that he will fight "some kind of MMA fighter".
However, respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani poured some doubt over those claims:
Absolutely no truth to this McGregor-Mayweather story. I can't believe people are actually falling for this nonsense. ... (Cont'd)

A) McGregor has a UFC contract. He can't just go fight Mayweather. And b) do you really think he would agree to those pay terms? C'mon now.

Regardless of the veracity of the rumours, Mayweather seemed to fan a few flames by suggesting that a bout against an MMA fighter is "possible".
