WATCH: An Irish couple are having an MMA-themed wedding

MMA-fever has gripped the nation, and it seems that not even weddings are safe from the influence of Conor McGregor and the other Irish fighters blazing a trail in the UFC.

This week's episode of Don't Tell The Bride features Wendy Leonard and her husband-to-be Noel O'Keefe, who will be given €10,000 to spend on planning the couple's dream wedding. Or, at least his version of it anyway.

As the trailer (and the title of this article suggests) Noel has pictured his wedding day slightly differently to the classy affair in a castle that his bride wants.

Instead, he is planning a mixed martial arts themed wedding, including a hen party for his bride at Straight Blast Gym, the very place where John Kavanagh trains UFC stars Conor McGregor, Aisling Daly and a host of others.

Wendy is not too thrilled with the change of plans that she's facing, nor with the fact that there will be ring girls in bikinis involved either.

However, she does get involved in a bit of mixed martial arts herself on her hen night, which includes a 10-year-old showing the party the best practices when it comes to fighting, and possibly teaching her a few moves that may come in handy when she sees what the wedding venue itself looks like.

Despite their differing interpretations of what a wedding is all about, will the couple make it all the way to the ceremony where they can exchange rings, or in this case octagons? Only time will tell...
