Sunday night was a memorable one for UFC fighter Alexander Gustafsson.
'The Mauler' defeated Glover Teixeira on front of a home crowd in Stockholm. Moments after the win, he proposed to his partner Moa Antonia Johansson in the octagon.
Gustafsson's win pushes him back into the reckoning for a shot at the UFC Light-Heavyweight Title. The 30-year-old has previously lost title fights with Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, but went the distance on both occasions.
The win over Teixeira, was the Swede's first back-to-back triumph in the octagon in almost four-and-a-half years. In that time, he has fought six times, winning three fights.
After his fifth round knockout, Gustafsson was celebrating in the ring, when he asked his now-fiancée to join him in the octagon and propose on front of the 12,668 fans in attendance.
"I love you. Thanks for having my kid, my baby", he proclaimed. "I love you with all my heart, do you want to marry me?". Much to the delight of Gustafsson and the crowd, Moa said yes.
Earlier this month, Ms. Johansson gave birth the the couple's first child Ava, ahead of Gustafsson's fight.
The Swede is the number one-ranked light-heavyweight and looks set to fight either Cormier or Jones after the duo meet later this summer on July 29th.
