After Jordan Spieth's maiden major victory at the US Masters, Off The Ball and Golf Weekly host Joe Molloy suggested that the American will "be on McIlroy's tail, making his life a misery".
A US Open victory last night, means Spieth has bagged another major and in our tournament review, Joe was joined by former The Guardian's former golf correspondent Lawrence Donegan and The Irish Independent's Karl McGinty.
Donegan highlighted Spieth's impressive pedigree.
"This kid has won at every single level he's played at, Spieth. You wouldn't say technically the greatest swinger in the world, but my goodness he knows how to get the ball in the hole," he said.
While Spieth will be making life difficult for McIlroy in the next few years, McGinty also suggested that Dustin Johnson, who was in contention this weekend, could also "be there at Rory's heels".
"You have three guys there that are going to be battling it down the stretch for the next few years," he said.
But Donegan questioned whether Johnson has the "bottle" for it when it comes to the crunch in future:
