UFC 211 becoming one of the best cards of the year

UFC 211 is slowly being shaped into one of the cards of the year after the promotion added the featherweight contest between perennial contender Frankie Edgar and Yair Rodriguez to the undercard which takes place in Dallas, Texas on 13th May.

The card is headlined by the heavyweight title fight between Stipe Miocic and former champion Junior Dos Santos.

Miocic will be making the second defence of the title he won off Fabricio Werdum last May. He then beat Alastair Overeem last September. Dos Santos is coming off a win over Ben Rothwell.

Miocic-Dos Santos is rematch of the December 2014 "Fight of the Night" effort between the pair which Dos Santos won by unanimous decision.

The co-main event sees dominant undefeated women's strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk take on Jessica Andrade. Jedrzejczyk is coming off an impressive win over compatriot Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden while Andrade has won three straight heading into the bout.

Top contenders in the welterweight division, Demian Maia and Jorge Masvidal, face off in what could decide the next challenger to champion Tyron Woodley.

Former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez returns for the first time since his loss to Conor McGregor last December. He will take on another McGregor victim in Dustin Poirier in what promises to be a barnbruner.

Top flyweight contenders Henry Cejudo and Sergio Pettis square off while Gabriel Benitez and Enrique Barzola clash in a featherweight contest. James Vick will also fight Marco Polo Reyes.

If that wasn't enough to look forward to, the UFC have recently added the Edgar-Rodriguez bout.
