Tyson Fury wants preformance enhancing drugs to be legalised in boxing

World Heavyweight challenger Tyson Fury believes believes there is "a big problem with drugs" in boxing and substance misuse can be best dealt with by legalising them.

The 27-year-old spoke to BBC Radio 5Live this morning ahead of fighting for the World Heavyweight title on Saturday. He faces champion Wladimir Klitschko for the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight world titles in Dusseldorf this weekend.

Fury told the BBC that the only way to make the sport "fully fair" is to legalise doping. "Why don't they make drugs totally legal in sports and then it would be fully fair?"

"If the governing bodies want to do that, it will be a bit fairer. You can't tell me that 99% of these sportspeople ain't taking drugs if they've got bodies like Greek gods. If a man wants to pump himself full of drugs it's only shortening his life isn't it? When you're pumping yourself full of drugs it's putting pressure on your heart, your liver, your lungs, your kidneys."

Fury is unbeaten as a professional boxer. He has won all 24 of his fights with 18 of those wins finished by TKO, technical decision or knockout.
