We're coming down to the last remaining hours before Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo finally confront each other in the octagon to determine who is the undisputed World Featherweight champion in the UFC.
Anticipation for this bout has been simmering since July, when the pair were originally intended to do combat. Aldo was unable to compete at the time due to a rib injury, meaning that American challenger Chad Mendes was drafted in to deputise in his place. McGregor dispatched Mendes in less than two rounds which entitled him to the interim title belt, but now, the Crumlin plumber wants the authentic belt currently in Aldo's possession.

Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor are backstage jawing at each other before taking the stage for the weigh-in. Face off should be intense!

The weigh-in took place last night at 11pm Irish time in the MGM Grand Arena. After some jostling between the fighters back stage, some 9,000 spectators poured in to see both McGregor and Aldo clock up 145Ib. The purge of cutting weight ahead of a fight is the plight of several UFC fighters and Conor McGregor is no exception. Spectators feared for him in January, saying that he looked emaciated ahead of his fight with Dennis Siver. And last night, those worries were renewed for some people after he stepped on to the scales ahead of his date with destiny.
Conor mcgregor looked like a heroin addict at the weigh in, amazing how cut up he can get and then go back to normal in a couple of days

Conor McGregor always looks like a heroin addict on weigh-in day. Crazy how he's able to cut, yet look normal the day after. #UFC194
