Defeated UFC champion picked up a handsome $1m purse for his fight against Nate Diaz while newly crowned Bantamwegiht champion Miesha Tate was left with a considerably smaller take-home pay.
Figures released from the Nevada Athletic Commission revealed that McGregor was the first UFC participant to cross the $1m mark while his opponent Nate Diaz picked up $500,000 despite beating McGregor and bringing his five-year unbeaten run to an end.
Also, there was no win bonus offered to McGregor. There was a similar situation in the Women's Bantamweight title fight whereby Holly Holm was awarded $500,000 while Miesha Tate, who captured the title off Holm, earned just $92,000 - including a $46,000 win bonus.
