The hard luck story of the Chicago Cubs may be coming to an end, as they look to end a 107 year drought for a World Series championship.
On tonight's US Sports segment, Donny and Joe were joined on the line by Ron Rapaport, former columnist with the Chicago Sunday Times.
Rapaport explained that the incident with fan, Steve Bartman catching a ball and disrupting a potential catch by Cubs outfielder Moisés Alou.
If Alou had caught the ball, it would have been the second out in the inning, and the Cubs would have been just four outs away from winning their first National League pennant since 1945.
"Guys you have to understand, that is typical Cubs luck" Rapaport explained.
"They have a really good team that year, good hitters and good pitching. The fans were excited, the team was excited the players are young and they have one of the best teams in baseball. And what does it come down to? One lousy game."
Ahead of tonight's game Rapaport shared his thoughts on how the fans will be feeling and how the players will have prepared.
"Going to the ame, the fans will be excited, they have to be.
"There's not a whole lot of trepadation for them there, I think that they think they're going to win. And god bless us all if they don't."
