The son of a former Dublin football manager has booked his place in the second round of a Juniors event at the French Open, after a superb comeback.
Simon Carr, son of Tommy Carr, revived from a 6-0 defeat in the first set, to take victory against Vasil Kirov of the United States.
17-year-old Carr won the second set after a tie-break 7-6(4) and secured the win 6-2 in the deciding set. He will now progress to face number four seed Zsombor Piros of Hungary in the second round of the Boys' Singles tournament.
